REMODARO · How we estimate

Your project. A transparent planning model.

Updated November 5, 2026. Remodaro uses scope-specific base ranges as illustrative planning assumptions, not independently sourced price observations. Hiring and technical references support planning guidance; they do not establish these base prices. These initial ranges are carried over from the launch model and have not been calibrated against local contractor bids. They need ongoing review as actual proposals become available.

Location

We resolve your ZIP using a packaged GeoNames postal-code dataset. Where a code is missing, Zippopotam.us is a fallback and receives only the ZIP. Postal place names may differ from municipal boundaries. When available, we multiply the base range by the state’s 2023 BEA all-items regional price parity divided by 100. This archived edition provides a reproducible model input across all states and D.C.

The BEA index covers general consumer prices, including housing. Using it for remodeling is an approximation chosen by Remodaro, not a BEA construction-cost methodology. It does not measure labor or material prices in an individual ZIP. When lookup fails, we show your ZIP and use the base model without a regional adjustment.

Your target and range

Quantity-based scopes multiply area or count by the base low and high rate and the regional factor. Fixed scopes use their project range and the same factor. The displayed starting target is the midpoint, rounded to the nearest $100. The full range remains visible. Complexity answers flag work to inspect and are not assigned invented surcharges. Unknown dimensions increase uncertainty. Repair scopes without a numeric model get an assessment brief.

BEA archived 2023 regional price parity tables. Regional factors identify broad geographic context. The model cannot guarantee a contractor’s price.
